PhotoVoltaics

Photo voltaic cells convert solar light photons into electricity. Photovoltaic solar cells fulfill two functions: photogeneration of charge carriers (electrons and holes) in a light-absorbing material, and separation of the charge carriers to a conductive contact that will transmit the electricity. Solar cells are commonly used in remote locations where cost-effective access to local power grids are not possible. The following articles contain information relating to solar photovoltaic technology and developments.
